Regular Meeting May 1, 2007
Present: Jack Oatway, Maureen Bennison, Lois Greene, Diane Bruhmuller, Frank Bruhmuller, Brenda Salo, Robert Luopa, Leo Kingsbury, Julie Kingsbury, Eija Heitaharu, Ladonna Sproule.

THAT THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR MARCH 07 BE ACCEPTED. Carried
President’s Report Brenda
-Brenda reported that club is now in receipt of operating grant for year ‘07.
-Floor refinishing has been arranged to be completed this week. Siilanpaa family reunion event to take place weekend of May 19th.
-”Thank you” notes have been received from the Martin family for recent passing of Danny Martin, Fiona Maki for get well wishes and fuitbasket, Frank Bruhmuller for get well wishes and fruuitbasket.
-Bell Sympatico has replied to petition and request for broadbanding service to our community and service will not be extended to our area.
-Brenda will address community issues of broadband service and maintenance of tourist welcome area for coming year at City of Sudbury Priorities Committee Meeting to be held on May 2, 2007 at Walden Arena.
-Area residents are asked to try “911″ service and report any difficulties to Brenda who has received notice that some residents do not have working line.
-Notice of availability of Beaver Lake Hall and upcoming Spring Fair weekend has been forwarded to Walden Cans and Sudbury Star.
-Official opening notice has been received from CVRD re: Totten Mine Project and Open Forum information session will be held on June 15th at Beaver Lake.
-Brenda thanked Robert and Leena Luopa for yard cleanup volunteer work last weekend. Many thanks!

Beaver Lake Website Alek Luopa
Alek presented an overview of possible website features. Request Alek to prepare a proposal for consideration which would contain the following:
History
Links to other community sites eg. WaldenCans, Mysudbury etc.
Events Section with pictures.
Business Section- minutes etc.
Other:
Distribution of minutes . Members who do not have email access have requested information mailout. Jack will investigate and report available alternatives.
