Uh-oh! The bus got stuck!

Well, this was an interesting problem.

It was morning when my bus driver called to tell my brother and I she would be late.

Okay.

We went to the end of the driveway at 8:30am and waited until 8:45am when I went up to
check the answering machine to see if she called us. There was one message from Northway
Bus Lines. I hit ”Play” and hear this:

“Hello this is Northway Bus Lines calling to inform you that your child WILL
NOT be picked up today because the bus driver can’t make it up a hill. Bye.

Shortly after I call my brother inside because we will not be going to school today,
I get a phone call from our bus driver, Sarah:

“ Hello Darling”
“Morning Sarah!”
“I seem to be stuck on the corner hill”
“Oh my! Not that hill!”
“Yes that one, they are sending a sand truck”
“Is it glare ice?”
“Why else would I be stuck on the hill?!?”
“Do you need help?”
“No, I’m fine. Gotta go, my cellphone battery is gonna die”
“Bye.”
“Bye”

Apparently, from what I heard, the sand truck did come…but got stuck in a snowbank.
It took two big towtrucks to get him out, and finally, after SEVEN HOURS stuck on
Ella Rd. Sarah was freed.

SEVEN HOURS!!! That is rediculous! If it were anywhere else, they would have sent a
messanger boy to check on her, or send help faster.

When I got on the bus the next morning the first words that Sarah said were: ”I was stuck
on your road for 7 hours yesterday”.

Comon you can’t leave a bus driver out in the rain with no food! That is insane!

Since winter is over we can relax right? Not unless the potholes grow too big…
